Winter Program and Weather

REMINDER!!!
Our Winter program will be this Wednesday, December 21st, at 6pm in the cafeteria. Please have your child in their classroom about 10 minutes early, dressed nicely for the program.

We WILL be going outside to our playground as much as we can. Children can be on the snow if they have on boots and are dressed appropriately for the weather (winter coat, hat, gloves). The students LOVE playing on the snow, and we really want to get them out there as much as possible!!

Have a great week!

Germs and Bugs

Dear Parents,

We have a couple of illnesses present in our preschool right now, and I have heard, just in the town. Lots of coughs and sniffles, runny noses, and sneezes are involved. This one isn't too bad, but just keep an eye on your kiddo to make sure they are well enough to be at school.

The other illness is the dreaded stomach bug. We have had a couple of people out with this bug recently. We are making sure the kids are washing their hands frequently, and keeping things out of their mouths. If your child gets this, please keep him home for at least 24 hours after the last time he was sick.

Hope everyone stays healthy!

December is here!!

I cannot believe how fast this year is going!! December is upon us, and with that comes the lovely snowy and cold weather that makes us Colorado! Just a few reminders with the cold and snow:

We do go outside on days that the "feels like" temperature is above 20 degrees. Usually, the teachers will check the playground and make a decision that keeps our preschoolers safe while allowing them to get outside as much as possible. That may mean walking in the snow. Please make sure your child has the appropriate cold weather gear when she comes to school (boots, hats, gloves and a warm coat for sure, snow pants are optional). We will make sure they get those items on if we go outside.

Also with this weather comes the sniffles and winter colds. Please keep your child home if they exhibit any flu-like symptoms and have a fever, or if they are obviously too sick to be at school. If your child is vomiting, please keep them home for at least 24 hours after they are finished. This will help us keep these bugs from running through our classrooms.

If the weather turns snowy, and the school has to close, this will be posted on the TPAAK website, on this blog, and on the Denver news stations (9,7, and 4). If TPAAK is closed, our preschool is closed. TPAAK is also closed anytime PSD is closed.

Finally, our Winter Program will be held on December 21st in the cafeteria on the stage! This is JUST FOR PRESCHOOL! Our 2 classes will be performing 5 songs for you, and we will have some desserts after they sing. I anticipate it being about 30 minutes, but you know preschoolers. We hope everyone can attend. Please have your preschooler dress nicely for this performance. We can't wait to see how they do!
